Overview
The platysma muscle is the most superficial muscle of the neck and is considered a muscle of facial expression despite not being located in the face. This muscle is connected to the depressor labii inferioris and to the SMAS. Upon contraction this muscle forms platysmal bands which can be treated with neuromodulators. This video provides a comprehensive overview of the functional anatomy of the platysma muscle and although no injection simulations are performed, this video is best suited for briefly freshen up on neck anatomy prior to clinical treatments.
