Overview
Recent research has revealed that the lips contain compartments which determine the individual and beautiful lip shape. These compartments lose volume on an individual basis. Restoring the volume of the lips in a compartment-disrespecting manner, will create unnatural and less beautiful lips or (even worse) can create sausage lips. To avoid such poor outcome following cannula-based volumizing procedures with soft tissues fillers the microbolus lip technique was developed. Learn from this video how to perform this specialized technique and to avoid the vascular danger zones at the same time.

Learning Objectives
- Describe the layered anatomy of the lips and its connections to the perioral region
- Appraise the complexities of the arterial vasculature of the upper and lower lip
- Compare the dangers and benefits of using a linear versus a microbolus cannula technique to volumize the lips with soft tissue fillers
