The Marionette line is also called the Labiomandibular sulcus. It is a facial feature that is most accentuated at higher age and becomes more prominent with facial soft tissue laxity. Thereby, the perioral region is devoid of volume, whereas the lateral face contains too much volume. This difference in surface volume projection needs to be adjusted and smoothened.
