Temporal Volumization: Subdermal Cannula Technique

Temporal Volumization: Subdermal Cannula Technique

Red background

Overview

Multiple techniques exist to address temporal volume loss. The technique presented in this video is a cannula-based technique which places the soft tissue filler product into the subdermal plane. However, some caveats exist as the superficial temporal artery is in closest proximity. See the anatomy of the superficial temple explained and the injection technique simulated on a layer-by-layer dissected body donor.

Treatment type: Soft Tissue Fillers

Facial region: Temples

Approach: Cannula Injection Technique

Competency Level: Expert

Course duration: 6 minutes

Course type: Injection simulation on a human body donor performed by Prof. Sebastian Cotofana

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the layered anatomy of the anterior temple
  • Appraise the complexities of the arterial vasculature of the temple
  • Compare the dangers and benefits of using a superficial cannula approach to treat temporal volume loss
