The orbicularis oris muscle is a superficial, circular, and sphincteric muscle which can close the mouth. Its muscle fibers are in the upper and in the lower lip horizontally oriented. Affecting this muscle with an incorrect injection technique or with too much product will results in oral incompetency or asymmetries.
